Ten years ago…hard to believe.

Lisa reminded me, after ringing in 2010 with friends last night, about the great time we had celebrating Y2K in Miami with my family. So I rummaged through the garage today and found my camcorder footage of that fun night.

My parents were still living there at the time and Lisa and I had just gotten married a few months before.

As you can tell from the video, everyone in South Beach was in a super-festive mood – anticipating the millenium.

At that moment – happy and care-free. George W. Bush hadn’t gotten sworn in yet for his first term. 9/11 was still to come. Destiny’s Child were still a quartet…

What a week! It’s really happened. Couldn’t be more proud. Kai points to the president’s picture and says, “Barack Obama.” Kai points to an American flag and also says, “Barack Obama.” It’s a new era.

Costanoa Eco Resort for Drew and Eric’s Wedding, Pescadero CA – 8/3/08

Kai in the midst of an intense game with another person his age while proud dads watch in the wings.

The boys after a while took the heads off the pawns (as you can see) and were beating them with it.

These things are full of sand so I was pretty amazed that Kai could lift and move them.
